The Sustainability Dossier deals with cultural, ecological, social and economic transformations that help to achieve sustainable development from the perspective of the arts. It brings together future-oriented positions for teaching and research and cooperates with external and internal partners. In this way, the Dossier contributes to groundbreaking development and focuses on integrating, conveying and testing existing and new knowledge and corresponding practices.

Karin Zindel
Co-Head of the Sustainability Centre. Profession/education: Bachelor Design, Master History and Theory of Art & Design. At ZHdK since 2009. What I like about ZHdK: The fact that all creative disciplines converge under one roof, making them tangible and visible — and thus creating new perspectives. When I’m not working, I enjoy life and explore many other things. My wishes for the Toni-Areal: a café on the rooftop terrace and more spaces for experimentation. My favourite place in Zurich: Badi Enge and the view of the Alps. Sustainability is important because … it makes our lives more livable and holds us accountable for our actions.

What I like about ZHdK: The fact that the most diverse and amazingly talented people meet here to pursue such different topics, desires and interests. When I’m not working, I do many other things. My wishes for the Toni-Areal: more sunlight and more views of the sky. My favourite place in Zurich: our home, and sometimes the forest, where I get lost on my mountain bike. Sustainability is important because … it strongly challenges the creative and artistic disciplines.
