Andrea Zeller: Why did you choose this programme?
Edinson Nuez: Music has always attracted me. Growing up in the Dominican Republic, I used to listen to my neighbour play the guitar all day long and started myself. I came to the piano later — some rooms at my school had a piano and, my curiosity aroused, I began plonking the keyboard myself. I was really gripped after a first real lesson and discovered my love for jazz piano through my classical education. I consider it a gift that I can study my instrument indepth at ZHdK. I enjoy doing something in life that fulfills me.

What are your current projects?
Alongside my studies I do concerts and compose songs with the singer Isabel Richiusa as Richiusa Delaluz Duo. In the hip-hop group KC7 I produce rap beats with Saymon Kuziem. We’re working on our first EP. We’ve already released our first single, “Prepara tu maleta.” Ialso make regular appearances in the Worship band at Buchegg Christian Centre.
